A Witzelsucht Post

It’s true that hippopotomanstroesequipedalian speech can make you sound inaniloquent at best and mumpsimus or philosophuncilist at worst. Still, I had to share this definition: Zielschmerz n. the exhilarating dread of finally pursuing a lifelong dream, which requires you to put your true abilities out there to be tested on the open savannah, no longer protected inside the terrarium of hopes and delusions that you created in kindergarten and kept sealed as long as you could, only to break in case of emergency. This is how I feel.

  1. It’s that expectation. That feeling that you finally have the opportunity to do something great, but you know it’s going to be hard and you don’t want to fail. But did we get to the moon by worrying if we might lose a few brave souls? No, we assessed the risks, planned, and took action. And while risks may be high, you have to remember what the reward could be. And that’s what drives someone to greatness, doing what no one else is willing to do.

That was a little melodramatic, but the importance of something is always dictated by the eye of the beholder. 🙂
